I don’t know if any of you have used the “LivingSocial” App on facebook, I’ve found it rather fun choosing my top five of different things. Most have been quite easy for example top bands and films. I found however, my top 5 “Biggest celebrity crushes” a hard one.
This was my choice and the reasons behind it:
Jeremy Clarkson:
Most of the lads I know find it offensive that I find the Top Gear presenter Clarkson attractive and I cant figure out why they are like that. I just admire how opinionated he is and I think too many people hold back now a days. I also enjoy his journalism and I tend to write in a similar style to him. It has now become a tradition for my best friend to buy me the latest Clarkson book for Christmas.
Mads Mikkelsen:
I was first introduced to the acting of Mads Mikkelsen in the film “Casino Royale” where he played bad guy Le Chiffre. I loved him so much I went to the cinema seven times to see that film. Since then went on to watch “After the Wedding” and have bought every single Danish film he’s in. My favourite is the Dogma classic “Open hearts” a definate recommendation from me. I have ordered “Prague” from Amazon and have also got “Flame And Citron” on pre-order.
Robert Pattinson:
A relatively new “crush” as I have only seen him in the last Harry Potter and as the sexy Edward Cullen in Twilight, as I read the Twilight books after watching the film I have fallen for Edward Cullen in the form of Robert Pattinson if that makes sense. The youngest person in my top five and the one nearest to my age.
Danny Dyer:
I don’t know many girls that don’t find Danny Dyer attractive and I really don’t know what it is that make us want him. Its possibly his bad boy attitude but we all know he is a happily married man with a gorgeous family. Again I’ve watched most of his films particularly liked “The Business” and the hillerius “Human Traffic”. This is one i’m sure girls will agree with.
Nick Rhodes:
Another strange one, as he’s old enough to be my dad. This man is a genius. I play the keyboard and this man is my idol and pushing for tops for person I’d most like to meet. I’d just want to talk about music with him all day. The keyboardist from Duran Duran has had top super models as girl friends so it cant be that weird-a-crush. Nick Rhodes you are god!
I know its top 5 celebrity crushes but I can resist throwing in:
I’ve just finished reading the Twilight series of books. It was seriously the best tonic for getting over a tricky relationship ending and going through a bad time in my personal life. I couldn’t put them down and once I had finished one I had to quickly go on to the next. Each took about a week to read and one actually made me cry!
The reason for blogging about this today is that its the release of the first film on DVD in the UK today. I’ve had it on pre-order on amazon so hopefully should arrive in the next few days. I can’t wait even though i’ve seen it twice already.
I now have a massive thing about the fictional character Edward Cullen so much so I would have married him whilst still human! Played by the fantastic Robert Pattison (who also starred in Harry Potter) is the perfect choice to play the cold but sexy role.
I urge all who haven’t picked up the book to do so, well worth the money. Those who haven’t seen the film go see it and you’ll want to read the books.
2009 has given me a strong liking for geek music, recently I have stumbled across The Video Game Orchestra. They have a large library of old computer game songs they have sampled and made all in all better. My fav’s are the sonic and super mario ones.
Geek Music is going to be my new thing as it seems to becoming more and more popular. Last FM have a geek music group describing it as a trend rather than a genre of music. I think this should be changed. My mission for April and on going to the summer is to find more of this genre and create some of my own. So watch this space. If you have any of this kind of music please comment the links below.
I have a guilty secret, I like Lily Allen. Well her new album, alot.
The song above called “Not fair” talks about how rubbish her bloke is in bed, I’m sure every girl has had this experience at one time or another. “Oh I lie here in the wet patch, In the middle of the bed, I’m feeling pretty damn hard done by, I spent ages giving head…” GENIUS! Loving her to bits. Her new look is pretty hot and not too skinny. I am liking the seventies style, may have to go down that route myself, any ideas? In the meantime go download her album from iTunes, it’s well worth it.
I have another Apple product love, the new Apple iPod shuffle.
I don’t need it I have a 1gb pink shuffle and a 8gb iPod touch but there is something amazingly cool about it. 4gb of music and its tiny. I like how it tells me what track I’m listening to and the way you have minimal buttons to control it. Just really want one. Any offers for buying me one?
OK both my artist of the month and song of the month come from the same person. Chase Perryman – Miss Havisham. His voice and this song is absolutely beautiful. I actually found him using stumble upon and it randomly came up with his website so I had a listen to his tracks there. Reminding me slightly of Johnny Cash but also Damian Rice and everyone knows how much I love both of them.
Currently Chase is creating lots of new material to bring to his fans over in the states via his website/myspace. I think he should be trying to break the English market too. Please come tour the UK Chase.
You can find Chase Perryman and listen to his beautiful songs by visiting either his Myspace or Chaseperryman.com, or for news updates you can follow him on Twitter.
Chasetv is worth a look too with his latest works being documented there via YouTube.
A Big thank you to Chase for letting me use these lovely photos and vid of him. I will be looking forward to see your first album available on iTunes in not to distant future i’m sure.
I don’t know if anyone saw the Jonathan Ross on friday evening? (20th March) if you did you will have seen what I had which was Sparks playing their new single “I cant believe you would fall for all the crap in this song” from the new album “Exotic creatures of the deep.” I was humming this song all weekend, it was in my head longer than compare the meerkat advert and thats annoying enough.
My mum didn’t see the show on friday but I was talking about a weird old band from the seventies who were playing and the song has got stuck in my head. She asked what they were called. I told her “Sparks” and she laughed her head off.. she said I would love the track from back then so I naturally Youtubed it. This is what I found:
“This town ain’t big enough for the both of us” Sparks
Now this song is stuck in my head – sods law.
For those that missed the show on friday:
“I cant believe you would fall for all the crap in this song” Sparks
On Sunday my Mum dragged me out of bed to go visit what I thought she meant was Cheshire Oaks the shopping centre, we didn’t nearly go as far and ended up at Blackemere shopping centre which is more like a craft centre but if that’s what they like to be called I’ll let them.
The best two things about the day was the Ice cream, I had honeycomb and was a joy, being the first sunny day this year in the North West I was happy sitting on the little bench in the courtyard ignoring the hundreds of kids being screamed at by their Mums, trying not to think “When I have kids I wouldn’t be letting them do that..”.
The second best bit was the aquatics part, Hundreds of fish and other animals too, my mum was rather fond of the tortoise and nearly bought one? She was so close but we realized there isn’t enough space for its little house thing. Here are a few photos of the animals.
One for my Mum:
As you can see when the nice sales person brought out the snake to show the kids I ran off to the fish section – I draw the line at snakes!
There was also some very amusing furniture and nick nack stores I’ve found these two the funniest of the day:
A weird spikey set of animals – the camel was best.
A wooden Bob the Builder – Obviously someone’s put a lot of effort into this but is really scary!
All in all Blakemere is definately a shopping experience that I’d advise you should all visit if you’re bored or stuck for idea’s on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Like me you should definately end it in the pub watching England win a Rugby match with a pint.
